Case study:FAQ for ISO TANK

What ISO Tank Containers is?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from some 100 countries, one from each country. ISO is a non-governmental organization established in 1947. The ISO's work results in agreements, which are published as international standards. ISO standards help industries agree on a standard way of producing things; for example, their standards ensure that the clock radio you buy will plug into a standard wall plug. The total number of standards ISO has published to date exceeds 7000.

ISO tank containers are defined as those tank containers for liquids which meet the requirements of ISO 1496-3: 1995.

Tank containers are used for the bulk transportation of hazardous and food grade liquid cargoes to all parts of the world. Consisting of a stainless steel shell enclosed in a mild steel frame, they are built in capacities from 14,000 litres to 25,000 litres.

 Why Use ISO Tank?

ISO Tanks are excellent for industrial chemicals storage and transport to remote locations.

-No repairs or inspections necessary

-No return costs

-No demurrage

-No contamination of product

How it can reduce my cost?

We can ship more product for less cost. More product (pounds or gallons) per shipment. We can ship up to 35,000 litre capacity per shipment. One ISOtank takes only one shipping space, just the same as a 20' dryvan container. However packing a dryvan container with drums enables you to carry 16,000 litres of liquid only (80 drums at 200 litres). Our ISOtank can carry 23,000 litres plus. Also, you have no need to buy the drums: so, packing cost is reduced by approximately US$ 1,500 per shipment.

How the containers move?

Movement of tank containers falls into the following areas:

Movement by Highway

Movement by Rail

Movement by Vessel (Ship or Barge)

Transfer of Containers- from one mode to another (Terminals)

Interchange of Containers
